How long will it take?


All items under Original Art are bespoke canvases that are each hand painted to order by Lucy Art's resident artist Rob Haigh. All original art takes approx 21-28 working days from order to despatch. This time scale excludes weekends and Bank Holidays. Approx 72 hours after an order is placed, an e-mail will be sent detailing your exact despatch and delivery date.

All Photo2... and Canvas Print orders take approx 3-7 working days to be despatched. This time scale excludes weekends and Bank Holidays. This time scale commences once Lucy Art has received the order plus payment and the relevant images. Lucy Art will acknowledge receipt of all these criteria by e-mailing a despatch and delivery date.

Please Note: Lucy Art CANNOT allocate a despatch date for your order until full payment has been made and, in the case of Photo2 orders, the relevant images have been received.

If you have not been e-mailed a despatch date with approx 72 hours of your full order being placed, please contact us to check that payment has been successful and your images have been received.

Any items from the Art in Stock section, if ordered before 12pm, can be delivered the within 2 working days. If you require delivery on a certain date, please specify this in the special instructions box at the checkout of the online order form.

Acrylic Art orders are despatched in approx 14-21 working days. We will advise your delivery date prior to despatch.

*These dates are subject to change during holiday periods.

Just email sales@lucyart.co.uk with your requirements and we can quote you the cost for your requested size and then add it to the website for you to proceed with your order online. The standard sizes we stock are listed here; www.lucyart.co.uk/custom_canvas.php

Can I change the colour of the painting?


All our original art is hand painted to order by Rob Haigh so you can choose whatever size, format and colour scheme will suit your space. Simply select 'I want to specify my own colours' from the drop down on the product page and then detail in the special instructions box at the checkout. Rob requests that RELEVANT COLOUR SAMPLES ARE POSTED TO US or EMAIL PHOTOS of your ROOM or COLOURS (unless black or white).

If you have a specific colour in mind and are unsure if the un-customised painting on the website will match, please bear in mind that differences in PC monitor and printer settings can affect colour perception then please POST A SAMPLE to ensure the standard painting will be created to suit your space.

When ordering online, please make a note in the additional information box at the checkout that samples are to be expected.

Samples can be anything from magazine cuttings and DIY shop paint cards to fabric swatches and wallpaper; basically anything with your colours on! Once your samples arrive, you will be sent an e-mail acknowledging their receipt. If you do not receive an e-mail shortly after you have posted your samples, please contact us as the absence of samples may delay the despatch of your art.

Can you print my own pictures?


Yes, you can post, email or upload on the website. We can work with digital images, printed photographs, negatives, slides etc. For very large files, we recommend selecting the e-mail option and then using www.sendthisfile.com; please also make a note in the special instructions box at the checkout if you are sending your image in this manner.

Our graphic artists look over each image before printing and will contact you if they have any concerns about resolution, cropping etc. However if you are unsure about the image you are sending, please make a note in the special instructions box at the checkout so our graphic artists can bear this in mind when processing your order

Delivery?


We now offer a 1 hour delivery slot on all UK Mainland deliveries *. Simply enter your upto date mobile number or email address whilst ordering and you will receive a text or email on the morning of delivery.
Your exact delivery date is sent via email within 72 hrs (exc weekends and bank holidays) of ordering, via email.
Remember to check your emails or have your phone switched on, on the day of delivery.

* Scottish Highlands and remote areas excluded but you will get an exact delivery day still.

If you have not paid for a Saturday delivery then all deliveries are made between 8am & 5pm, Monday to Friday. The parcel WILL require a signature so please ensure you choose a suitable delivery address taking this into account. Alternatively Lucy Art is able to deliver to neighbour or relatives houses, work places but NOT PO Box addresses.

If no-one is able to accept the delivery at the address given, please leave a SIGNED note on the front door advising the courier where to leave the parcel i.e. on the property, neighbour etc.

If delivery is unsuccessful, the parcel will be returned to the local depot and delivery will be attempted again the next day.

PLEASE NOTE Lucy Art uses outside couriers and the couriers CANNOT call clients for any reason. Delivery dates are advised with plenty of advance therefore we would appreciate your assistance in calling or e-mailing the gallery if you have any problems.

Why do I have to create an account?


Creating an account allows you to re-order simply by entering your e-mail address and password, saving you entering all your details again. You can also use your account to check your despatch date and order progress. We do not store your payment details for your own security.

Do you use my image to wrap round the sides (Photo2...)?


Not usually, we can manipulate the image with our software to keep your entire image on the front of the canvas. In some cases if the image is too big for your chosen canvas, we may use it to create the wrapped edge but we will use our experience to gauge and contact you if there is a problem.

Can I have a Photo2... from any image?


Generally YES, we can create a digital image from your slides, printed photographs, negatives, digital images, mobile phone pictures etc. We have professional scanners to transform them to digital images and can let you have them on CD if requested.

If possible, please take a look at your image on your PC before placing your order and zoom into it to see if it distorts. If it starts to go 'blocky' (pixelated) after a couple of clicks, it will probably not produce a quality enlarged image. If you are at all unsure, please e-mail images@lucyart.co.uk for advice before placing your order.

If I post an image for scanning to create a Photo2... order, will I get it back?


Absolutely, we post all printed images back with the finished canvas. If for any reason, they have not been enclosed, just call or email the gallery and we will post them out immediately. If you are sending a CD, please ensure you make a backup copy of the files in case it gets lost on its way to us.

How long does it take to get my photo put onto canvas?


Photo2... orders take 5-7 working days from order (including receipt of full payment and relevant images) to despatch. However please be aware that this may be exceeded during busy periods such as promotions and holidays. Call or email if any concerns we will always try hit your deadlines.

What does 30x20x1.5 inch canvas mean?


This means that the individual canvas is 30 inches wide by 20 inches high and 1.5 inches deep. We always quote the WIDTH first.

Do you only print on to canvas?


No, we do not just do canvas prints. We can print on to satin or gloss photo paper and textured fine art paper more details upon request

Why do I have to verify my address?


We have recently made improvements to our system and we now require some extra address details. Please check the addresses we have on file for you to make sure we have all the relevant information to process your order.

How do i hang the canvases?


Simple, just put 2 nails or screws (with suitable wall plugs) per canvas, unless very large and more are required, into your wall and simply sit the frames on them. This will give a flush fit on the wall. We don't provide fixings for health and safety reasons as we can't guess your wall type and don't want to provide the wrong fixings.

My canvas has arrived and the canvas seems quite slack and baggy?


Don't worry this is because canvas is a natural material and during transit it goes through warm and cold temperature changes. If your canvas is slack, simply get a water sprayer, the type you might use to dampen clothes before ironing or a small paint brush and simply brush or spray the back of the canvas alll over with water and the canvas will tighten up. Don't soak through, a sensible dampening all over will suffice. The wooden pegs in our opinion are a waste of time for tightening back up.
